So summer turned out to be super busy for our authors at WWF. Not only were most of us busy writing our Fall/Winter releases but reading time, unfortunately, fell aside for many of us. But today we’re happy to share some of our recent fav’s! The following list includes books from all genres. A few of us, while we write mostly fantasy, are huge science fiction, mystery and historical fiction nerds. Happy reading!
Jennifer Silverwood loved:
Jenn’s Thoughts: I’ve been currently reading the graphic novel version of Neil Gaiman’s Stardust, and y’all, it is such a gorgeous book. I say graphic novel, but it’s more a novel with gorgeous illustrations throughout more than the more comic-y graphic novel’s. Gorgeous prose, and hilarious wit of course. Anyone else read Stardust?
Jenn’s Thoughts: This is one of the most gorgeous books I’ve read so far this year. Danley’s mastery of prose, pacing and storytelling provide a scrumptious fairy tale feast. To paraphrase Austen, if I loved this less, I may be able to talk about it more. Simply beautiful.
K.D. Jones Read:
WWF Note: What do y’all think about the new cover art? For anyone who is curious about the cover change, check out this article our authors drug up: Author Note Full warning, it’s a crazy story, y’all.
Kate Avery Ellison is reading:
Melissa Wright listened to:
Mel’s Thoughts: I watched To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before on Netflix and then dropped everything else I was reading to listen to the audiobook (and then the second in the series, which I assume will shortly be followed by the third).
What books did you read in September or are still reading? Since you’re here, you obviously love fantasy as much as we do, but is there another genre you love to read even more? Let’s talk books in the comments below!
I like these posts. Lots of good recommendations. Most of them in this post are of books I haven’t heard of until now. =)
